It does not care about the surrounding text, so a spreadsheet column, a forwarded email thread, a saved web page or a messy export all work the same way. The result is a clean, deduplicated list you can copy or download as CSV.
Deduplicating LinkedIn URLs by exact string match does not work, because the same profile is written four different ways in the wild. This tool normalises all of them before comparing.
Tracking parameters. A URL copied from a LinkedIn search or an email often carries a query string, for example a trailing originalSubdomain or a miniProfileUrn. Everything after the question mark is stripped.
Locale subdomains. The same person is fr.linkedin.com for a French viewer, uk.linkedin.com for a British one and www.linkedin.com for everyone else. All three are the same profile, so the subdomain is normalised away.
Protocol and www. Some sources give the full https prefix, others start at linkedin.com. Both are treated as identical.
Trailing slashes. A trailing slash makes two otherwise identical strings unequal to a naive comparison. It is removed.
After all four passes, what remains is the public identifier, which is the only part that actually identifies the person.
LinkedIn uses different path prefixes for different object types. A personal profile lives under /in/. A company lives under /company/. A school lives under /school/ and a group under /groups/. Only the first is a person.
Mixing company pages into a list of people is a common and expensive mistake, because it silently corrupts your outreach: a connection request sent to a company page goes nowhere. This tool separates company pages into their own box so you can see what was filtered out rather than losing it quietly.
Cleaning an inherited list. You are handed a spreadsheet from a colleague or a previous agency, and the LinkedIn column is a mess of formats with duplicates scattered through it. Paste the column, get a clean list.

A personal profile URL contains /in/ followed by the public identifier, for example linkedin.com/in/janedoe. Company pages use /company/ and are not personal profiles, so this tool separates them out.
